HANS STRICKLER (b. 24 Jul 1636, d. Aft. 1686)
HANS STRICKLER (son of HANS STRICKLER and MARGARETHA HITZ) was born 24 Jul 1636 in HIRZEL, SWI, and died Aft. 1686 in IBERSHEIM, GERMANY. He married ANNA OSLER on 1667 in HIRZEL, SWI., daughter of HANS OSLER.
Notes for HANS STRICKLER:
Which Hans Strickler, s/o Hans & Margaretha: married Anna Osler is unclear. Both Hans Jacob born 1636 and Hans born 1643, disappear from records about 1678. Either could have married Anna Osler. We are convinced the one who did is the ancestor of the American Strickler lines:
From Frank Duff website:
Son of Hans and Margreth (Hitz) Strickler born: 24 Jul 1636, Bruderhaus, Hirzel Switzerland died; ca 1680-83, near Ibersheim, Germany? Buried; Married: ca 1670 Anna Osler? Daughter of Hans Osler born: ca 1649-51 died: Germany? Hans Jacob Strickler was born at Unteres Bruderhaus in Hirzes, SWI. After marriage, he moved to Harutti in Hirzel in 1667. All indication is that he was still single. He is probably the same Hans Strickler who lived in Hirzel with his wife Anna Osler<
There are several scenerios. (1) Hans Jakob Strickler died in 1668. Therefore is no longer in records of Hirzel. (2) Hans jakob Strickler left Switzerland in 1668 for France or Germany married there and became the forefather of the American Stricklers. (3) Hans Jakob Strickler remained in Hirzel and married Anna Osler and was known as Hans Strickler, (4) Hans Strickler who one time is called hans Jacob, married Anna Osler and is the forefather of the American Stricklers, not Hans Jacob Strickler born 1636. (5) Hans Jakob Strickler born 1636 married Anna Osler and was known as Hans Strickler after the death of his younger brohter Hans.
