Notes for JOHN WILSON: 1788: John removed to Washington township, Fayette Co, Pa, to occupy a two-hundred-acre tract bought for him by his sons Hugh and John Jr., living respectively in Allegheny County and Perry township, where they had been residing some time. The two hundred acres, lying on the line between Westmoreland and Fayette Counties, were bought for Wilson from one Jones, and into the house Jones had put up Wilson moved with his family. In 1804, mr. Wilson replaced the Jones cabin with the log house now standing on the place.
