Notes for BILLIE JEAN RHODES: Billie Jean was employed by the Water Department of Corsicana for many years before her retirement. Notes for ALVIS DEWEY JR. TUCKER: Alvis was a mechanic by trade and owned and operated Tucker Brothers Garage in Corsicana, Texas. Alvis and Billie also owned rural acreage where they bred and raised cattle. This endeavor was to carry over to their son and grandchildren, who would be involved in Future Farmers of America and the development and the showing of prize livestock. The Tucker family belonged to the Baptist church and were very active in the church's programs. Alvis was a Mason, and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. |
