12. JOHN3 RICHARDSON (BENJAMIN2, BENJAMIN1) was born 1805 in Bulloch County, Georgia, and died 1868 in Jasper County, Texas. He married (1) ELIZABETH (BETSIE) POOL Abt. 1824 in Louisiana. He married (2) PHOEBE SESSOMS Abt. 1830 in Mississippi. He married (3) CYNTHIA HICKMAN FRAZIER 27 October 1850 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.

Notes for J
OHN RICHARDSON:
John Amos grew up in Louisiana and did not come to Texas until after 1837 when he settled north of Richardson's Bluff on the Jasper-Weiss Bluff road. The location was ideal for his business of blacksmithing. He also operated a stagecoach that ran regularly between Richardson's Bluff and Beaumont. Based on documents in the 3rd Class headright file, he came to Texas in 1840.

1850 Jasper County census taken on 7 October lists John as head of household with no spouse and ten children in residence. This indicates marriage to Cynthia Hickman occurred after this date. Their first child was born in September 1851 so marriage must have taken place shortly thereafter.

1860 Jasper County census taken on 27 July 1860 lists John Richardson (46), Farmer with $2,000 in real estate and $1,500 in personal property as head of household, born in Georgia, with Cynthia (46) born in Tennessee, Abel (8) and Amos (6) born in Texas. In household is John Frazor (83) domestic from Ireland.
