2 DIE IN SEPARATE HOLIDAY ACCIDENTS

Two Baytown area residents were killed in accidents over Memorial Day weekend.

Kathy Smith Zlomke, 24, of 7503 Willow Oak died Saturday in a boating accident on Lake Jacksonville, while Stanley F. Clogston, 37, of Highlands was killed in a head-on auto collision Sunday afternoon.

According to a spokesman for Jacksonville police, Mrs. Zlomke was with her husband, Jerry, being pulled by a boat while hang-gliding over the lake when the boat motor died, laving her in mid-air.

Mrs. Zlomke drowned when she became tangled in her harness and guide lines after falling into the lake, the spokesman said.

A graduate of Ross S. Sterling, Mrs. Zlomke was the owner of Country Casual dress shop in West Town Shopping Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Earthman Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Trice officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Zlomke Sr.; one daughter, Jamie Lynn; one son Jerry Wayne Jr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vertis Earl Smith; one sister, Debra Lynn McIntyre; one brother, Darren Kirk Smith, all of Baytown.

Her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Crandall of Woodville, also survive.

Burial will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Jones, Dewey Nunez, Jim Gentry, Rick Keene, Mark Wade and Randy Norton.

Arrangements are under direction of Earthman Funeral Home.
