Clarence Debs Speer (son of Merchison (Merch) Speer and Sallie Amanda Mayo) was born November 21, 1908 in Rhea, Dewey County, Oklahoma, and died March 28, 1972 in Rhea Cemetery, Dewey County,Ok.. He married (1) Lucy Irene Carter on August 2, 1928 in Arapaho, Oklahoma, daughter of Isaac Washington Carter and Martha Elizabeth Sumrall. He married (2) Retta Adair.

My Uncle Debs had a friend "sonny buck" Holcomb, the son of Holcomb that Merchison Speer purchased the Speers store from in Rhea. They would get together and spread raw ground beef and a slice of onion with a lot of black pepper on a hamburger bun eat for lunch or a snack. They called the concoction a "cannibal sandwich" bill rice
