Earl Hugh Meschines (de Kevelioc) 3rd of Chester (son of Randulph de Gernon, Earl of Chester and Maud FitzRobert) was born 1147 in Kevelioc in Monmouth, wales, and died 30 Jun 1181 in Leek, Staffordshire, England.. He married (1) Bertrada de Montfort, daughter of Simon de Montfort Comte d'Evreux. He married (2) Bertrada de Montfort-l'Amauri on 1169, daughter of Simon III de Montfort.

Notes for Earl Hugh Meschines (de Kevelioc) 3rd of Chester:
Joined the Baronial revolt of 1173-1174 against King Henry II. He convinced the Betons to rebel against Henry. He was captured and imprisoned at the Battle of Alnwick, in which King William I ("The Lion") of Scotland invaded England. Eventually in 1177, he was restored to his land and titles, and served King Henry in his Irish campaigns.
