Ann Spears Black . John and Ann Black came to Vermilion Co., IL. about 1830, tradition says by horseback. Oct. 18, 1831 is a date given for their arrival in Vermilion County. They were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. John Black died in 1851 and his widow married 2nd John L. Sconce on May 6, 1856. John and Ann S.
