Samuel Riggs (son of John Riggs and Mary Davis) was born October 06, 1740 in Queen Caroline Parish, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, and died May 25, 1814 in Brookeville, Montgomery Co., Maryland. He married Amelia Dorsey on 1767 in Queen Caroline Parish, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland.

" Samuel, b Oct 6, 1740 & d May 25, 1814, during the Revolution he was a 2nd Lieutenant in Montgomery Co. Militia, under Col. Zadock Magruder. He lived in "Bordley's Choice" ion Montgomery Co. Maryland. House still stands on a hill near Brookeville. Wife was born Aug. 23, 1749 and died Aug 6, 1807. Dau Henrietta married Daniel Gauthier
