Lowe was born on Oct 2 1948 in Marietta, Ohio.⁽⁵⁶⁾ He died on Nov 1 1990 in Marietta, Ohio. ⁽⁵⁶⁾ His obituary read as follows, "LOWELL - John D. lowe. 42, of Lowell Rt. 2 died at 12:04 a.m. today, Nov. 1, in Marietta Memorial Hospital. - He was born Oct. 2, 1948, at Marietta to David "Sid" and Garnet Johnson Lowe. He was a 1966 graduate of Fort Frye High School and a 22 year member of CArpenters Local 356 of MArietta, where he was recording secretary for nin years and taught apprenticeship training classes at Washington County Career Center for five years. He was a member of Whipple Community Church and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was a past member of Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department and Salem Township Recreation Association. He had been a Little League and peewee basketball coach for six years and had served as president of the Salem Liberty Elementary PTO for three terms. - He is survived by his wife, the former Jerry Delaney, whom he married April 4, 1971; three sons, Justin, Jordan and Jared, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Sally) Saling of Caldwell Rt. 4. - Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in McClure-Schafer Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight and until time for the service." He was buried in Salem Township Cemetery.

He was married to Dorothy "Jerry" Jeraldine Delaney on Apr 4 1971. John D. Lowe and Dorothy "Jerry" Jeraldine Delaney had the following children:
