THIRD GENERATION
16. Capt. George W. Locker
(1) was born on Jan 8 1800 in Virginia.
His relationship to Willaim Locker, Sr. is established in the extracts of Dr.
Seth Hart's Journal, "June 26, 1843 - William Locker sen'r (of Wood County)
Virginia, debtor, to v. b. pills & c[are] for son George in Marietta....$1.00."
It's my belief that George was the child of an earlier marriage of William's
because Eleanor Jenkins would have been about 15 years old in 1800 when George
was born. Also William and Eleanor have a son named George born about 1823.
There are several other entries in Dr. Hart's journal that refers to George
as Captain George Locker. He was living in 1830 in Union Twp., Washington Co.,
Ohio.(31) He was living in 1840 in Harmar
Village (Marietta West Side), Washington Co., Ohio.

Hawkins was born on Aug 14 1798 in Virginia.
(59) Carolyn Conner says she was born near what is now Kingwood, Preston
Co., West Virginia. She died on Nov 7 1884. I have no documentation that Jemima
was Thomas Hawkins daughter except for the fact that Thomas Hawkins was a neighbor
to the Lockers on Big Run in Williams District, Wood County, Virginia. Thomas's
son, John, married Mary Locker. Capt. George W. Locker and Jemima Hawkins had
the following children:
68 i.
Maria Locker(8) was born on Jan 18
1824. She died on Aug 7 1907. There are two marriages on record for a Maria
