He was married to Josephine Kathryn Klein (daughter of Anthony Klein and Louise ______) on Dec 31 1937 in Wood County, West Virginia.⁽⁸⁵⁾ They were married by William B. Carns, Pastor of the Church Of The Good Shepherd in Parkersburg. Gilbert "Gib" Leroy Ritchie and Josephine Kathryn Klein had the following children:
