114. Gilbert "Gib" William Plaugher was born on Aug 2 1936 in Moore's Junction, Washington Co., Ohio. He died on Aug 29 2000 in Washington Co., Ohio. His Marietta Times obituary read, "Gilbert William Plaugher. 64, of Marietta Route 2 died at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 29, 2000) at his home following a lengthy illness. - He was born Aug. 2, 1936, In Moore's Junction, near Marietta, to Mark and Hazel Ritchie Plaugher. He had served in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed at Mark Williams Black Top until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and stock car races. He was a Dale Earnhardt fan. - He Is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Palmer Plaugher, whom he married Dec. 18, 1955; three sons, Daniel W. Plaugher and his wife, Veronica and Dennis E. Plaugher and his wife, Rebecca, all of Marietta, and Donald A. Plaugher and his wife, Lori, of Dalzell; one daughter, Debra J. Frye and her husband. Greg, of Dalzell; 10 grandchildren; five brothers, Gale Plaugher, Frank Plaugher and his wife, Wayneda, and Mark A. Plaugher and his wife, Barb all of Marietta, Rodney Plaugher and his wife, Gloria of Phoenix City, Ariz., and Robert Plaugher of Mount Vernon, Ind.; two sisters, Brenda Palmer and her husband. Jim, and Betty Hart, all of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews. - He was preceded In death by his parents; one sister, Ramona Plaugher and one grandson, Jacob Tyler Plaugher. - Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at McClure-Schafer Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev. Ronald Coy officiating. Burial is in Gravel Bank Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call from 6 p.m. today until the hour of the services at the funeral home. - Memorial contributions may be made to the Gilbert Plaugher Memorial Fund, Route 2, Box 61, Marietta, Ohio 45750." He was buried on Sep 1 2000 in Gravel Bank (Riverview) Cemetery near Constitution, Ohio. He was named after his uncle, Gilbert Leroy Ritchie.
