on May 26 1919 in Warren Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.
(11) She died on Mar 21 1998 in Marietta, Ohio. She was buried on
Mar 24 1998 in Tunnel Cemetery, Washington Co., Ohio. Frederick Floyd Ritchie
and Dorothy Irene Johnson had the following children:

Duane Warren Ritchie was born on Feb 28 1942 in Bonn, Ohio.

1950 in Marietta, Ohio.(71) He was killed
by an accidental discharge of a shotgun. The Thursday Evening Dec 28 1950 issue
of the Marietta Daily Times gave the following account: "Two Boys Shot Accidentally
While at Play - Dwayne Ritchie, 8, son of Fred Ritchie of 221 Harmar St., was
in serious condition in Marietta Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon with a
bullet wound in his abdomen. - Tommy Biehl, two, was also in the hospital with
reported face wounds. - The shooting took place about 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs.
Beman Thompson at 113 Linwood Ave. The two children are reported to have been
hit accidently by a bullet from a gun in the hands of an 18 year old boy, according
to hospital attendants. Police began an immediate investigation. - The eight-year
old boy, who lives with his father, was en route to Whipple for a few day's visit
with his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Biehl. The mother had left him and her small son
for the afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Thompson, where the accident
occurred." A follow-up article appeared the next day and reported; "Gun-Shot
Wound Proves Fatal To 8-Year-Old Boy - Gun shot wounds in the abdomen brought
death Thursday afternoon to Duanne Ritchie, 8, of 221 Harmar St., about an hour
after he was accidently shot at 113 Linwood Ave. - His step-brother, Tommy Biehl,
19 months old, also hit by the same blast, was reported in serious condition
Friday at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was hit on the left side of the head.
- Called Accident - Police reported the 12 guage pump gun was accidently discharged
shortly after 1:30 p.m. while Beman Thompson, Jr., 18, was in the act of removing
the shells. Thompson, a high school senior and a member of the high school band,
was not held by police. - As police reconstructed the tragedy, Duanne Ritchie,
son of Fred Ritchie, was to be taken to the home of his mother, Mrs. Dorothy
Biehl, at Whipple for a few days' visit during the school holidays. Mrs. Biehl
had left her 19 month old son and Duanne at the home of her sister, Mrs. Beman
Thompson, whose husband is a city employee. - Gun Discharged - Young Thompson
decided to unload the gun as a safety measure in case the children should decide
to play with the gun. The loaded gun, police said, had been sitting in the house
since the father was on a hunting trip at Christmas time. In some unknown manner
the gun was discharged, the blast striking the two children who were only a short
distance away in the kitchen. The youngest child was sitting at the table..."
He was buried on Dec 30 1950 in Gravel Bank (Riverview) Cemetery near Constitution,
Ohio.(71) His grave was without a marker
for many years. Fred & Virginia bought a small marker in the mid 70s but
his name is misspelled Duanne. He was named after Warren Clarence Johnson.
(11) Pearl Lorraine
Long (daughter of Benjamin Harrison Long and
Bertha May ______) was born on Sep 10 1925 in Huntington, West Virginia.
(71) She died on Sep 9 2000 in Marietta, Ohio.
(71) Her obituary appeared in the Sept. 11,
2000 edition of The Marietta Times and read, "Pearl L. Ritchie Bitzel, 74,
of Wayne Street, Marietta, died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 9, 2000) at the
Marietta Center for Health and Rehabilitation. - She was born Sept. 10, 1925,
in Huntington, W.Va., to Benjamin Harrison and Bertha May Long. She was a Catholic
by faith. She retired from the Adventure Galley. She was a member of the: Fraternal
Order of Eagles Auxiliary at Marietta. - She is survived by two daughters,
Jan Miller of Wayne Street, where she made her home, and Jody Anderson and her
husband, Louie of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Dane Ritchie and his wife, Anita,
of Belpre and Dr. Douglas F. Ritchie and his wife, Yvonne, of Huntington, W.Va.;
10 grandchildren, Jacob Miller of Marietta, Jennifer Watson and her husband,
Allen, of Reno, Erica Sayre and her busband, Keith, of Marietta, Dr. Jill Showalter
and her husband, Bill, of Parkersburg, Holly Freed and her husband, Adam, of
Morgantown, W.Va., Adam Ritchle and his wife, Trudy, of Huntington, Tina Davis
and her husband, Jim, of Zanesville, Brian Carruthers of Circleville and Nefriterri
Anderson and Cassandra Anderson. both of Richmond; and one sister, Irene O'Neal
of Paducah. Ky. - She was preceded In death by her parents; four brothers,
Walter, Edward, Lester and Fred Long; and two sisters, Janette Flowers and Hazel
Weethee. - Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hadley Funeral Home in Marietta.
Burial is in East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7
to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home." She was buried on Sep 12 2000 in
East Lawn Memorial Park, Reno, Ohio. Frederick Floyd Ritchie and Pearl Lorraine
