She was married to Frederick Floyd Ritchie (son of Floyd "Hode" Leroy Ritchie and Mahala Isabel Hawkins) on Dec 14 1934 in St. Marys, West Virginia.(82) Marriage performed by Rev. Carl B. Johnson (no relation to Dorothy). She was divorced from Frederick Floyd Ritchie on Feb 2 1946 in Washington Co., Ohio.(83) Dorothy Irene Johnson and Frederick Floyd Ritchie had the following children:

The Thursday Evening Dec 28 1950 issue of the Marietta Daily Times gave the following account: "Two Boys Shot Accidentally While at Play - Dwayne Ritchie, 8, son of Fred Ritchie of 221 Harmar St., was in serious condition in Marietta Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon with a bullet wound in his abdomen. - Tommy Biehl, two, was also in the hospital with reported face wounds. - The shooting took place about 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Beman Thompson at 113 Linwood Ave. The two children are reported to have been hit accidently by a bullet from a gun in the hands of an 18 year old boy, according to hospital attendants. Police began an immediate investigation. - The eight-year old boy, who lives with his father, was en route to Whipple for a few day's visit with his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Biehl. The mother had left him and her small son for the afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Thompson, where the accident occurred." A follow-up article appeared the next day and reported; "Gun-Shot Wound Proves Fatal To 8-Year-Old Boy - Gun shot wounds in the abdomen brought death Thursday afternoon to Duanne Ritchie, 8, of 221 Harmar St., about an hour after he was accidently shot at 113 Linwood Ave. - His step-brother, Tommy Biehl, 19 months old, also hit by the same blast, was reported in serious condition Friday at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was hit on the left side of the head. - Called Accident - Police reported the 12 guage pump gun was accidently discharged shortly after 1:30 p.m. while Beman Thompson, Jr., 18, was in the act of removing the shells. Thompson, a high school senior and a member of the high school band, was not held by police. - As police reconstructed the tragedy, Duanne Ritchie, son of Fred Ritchie, was to be taken to the home of his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Biehl, at Whipple for a few days' visit during the school holidays. Mrs. Biehl had left her 19 month old son and Duanne at the home of her sister, Mrs. Beman Thompson, whose husband is a city employee. - Gun Discharged - Young Thompson decided to unload the gun as a safety measure in case the children should decide to play with the gun. The loaded gun, police said, had been sitting in the house since the father was on a hunting trip at Christmas time. In some unknown manner the gun was discharged, the blast striking the two children who were only a short distance away in the kitchen. The youngest child was sitting at the table..." He was buried on Dec 30 1950 in Gravel Bank (Riverview) Cemetery near Constitution, Ohio.(66) His grave was without a marker for many years. Fred & Virginia bought a small marker in the mid 70s but his name is misspelled Duanne. He was named after Warren Clarence Johnson. (1)

Ralph Rhineholt Biehl was born on Mar 8 1926 in Whipple, Ohio. (53) He died on Aug 31 1982 in Marietta, Ohio. (53) He was buried on Sep 4 1982 in East Lawn Memorial Park, Reno, Ohio.
