11. Joseph "Joe" W. S. Ritchie Jr. was born on Apr 19 1863 in Gravel Bank, Dunham Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.(24) He is listed as Joseph Jr. in the 1880 Census, Joe Richie in the 1898 Marietta City Directory. On his marriage license, he is listed as Joseph W. S. Ritchey. He , according to federal census records, was a quarryman in 1900 in Warren Twp., Washington Co., Ohio. (34) The 1912 - 1913 Marietta City Directory lists him as a stone cutter with wife Mary living in Mile Run. He died on Oct 11 1915 in Marietta Twp., Washington Co., Ohio. (50) His obituary appeared in the Monday Evening Marietta Times of October 11, 1915 and read; "Mr. Joseph Ritchey for many years a resident of West Marietta, died Monday morning at the County Infirmary, to which institution he had been committed about two weeks ago. His demise was due to a complication of ailments. -- One brother, William Ritchey (mistake in paper, should have read Alexander Ritchey, William Ritchie was his nephew), resides in this city. The remains were brought to the undertaking establishment of Wieser & Cawley and prepared for burial. Burial will be made at Gravel Bank, to which place the body will be taken Tuesday. He was buried on Oct 13 1915 in Gravel Bank (Riverview) Cemetery near Constitution, Ohio.(24) I found a marker inscribed "Joe Ritchey" at the Gravel Bank Cemetery, but no dates are on the marker.

He was married to Mary E. Flowers (daughter of Mary Stephens) on Aug 29 1886 in Belpre, Ohio. (51) They were married by G. D. Roshbone, a Justice of the Peace. Apparently they had no children. Mary E. Flowers was born in Oct 1861 in Ohio. (34) She died before 1915.(52)
