THIRD GENERATION

24. Albert Leroy Ritchie ⁽¹⁷⁾ was born on Aug 30 1869 in Ohio. ⁽³⁴⁾ He died in Sapulpa, Okalohoma. He was buried in Bixby, Oklahoma. According to Bob Masters, Albert and family went to Oklahoma along with Winford Ritchie and others around 1912 looking for work in the oil fields. There is no indication that his son Wade, who was married by then, went along.

He was married to Ruth R. Roe (daughter of Michael Roe and Ruth A. Baker) on Dec 24 1888 in Washington County, Ohio. Ruth R. Roe ⁽³⁸⁾ was born about 1869 in Ohio. I cannot find from the county records what exactly became of Ruth, apparently she died sometime in 1895. Albert Leroy Ritchie and Ruth R. Roe had the following children:

66 ii. George Ritchie was born on Mar 11 1894 in Warren Twp., Washington Co., Ohio. ⁽⁵⁶⁾ He died on Jun 22 1895 in Warren Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.⁽⁵⁷⁾
67 iii. Janette Ritchie (Private).

He was married to Minnie Etta Schoonover on Mar 11 1895 in Washington County, Ohio.⁽⁵⁸⁾ They where married by J. F. Briggs, a Justice of the Peace. Minnie had two daughters before marrying Albert: Nellie F. and Hazel Schoonover. According to Bob Masters (who probably received this from Thelma [Ritchie] Masters); "it seemed to be common knowledge at the time that they were fathered by Manuel Wilson" and "that he never denied it." In the 1900 Census, these girls (Nellie age 13 and Hazel age 11) are listed in Albert's household as stepdaughters with the surname of Wilson (Schoonover was their legal surname), which would tend to prove that Manuel was indeed their father. This is the same Manuel Wilson that married Cordelia V. Ritchie in 1898. Nellie F. Schoonover married Albert's first Cousin, Winford F. Ritchie, in 1903. Hazel Schoonover married Collie M. Parke in 1906. Wade Ritchie married Hollie Parke's sister, Ethel, in 1908. Minnie Etta Schoonover was born in Feb 1871 in Ohio. ⁽³⁴⁾ She died in Sapulpa, Okalohoma. (probably in Oklahoma where Albert moved his family) She was buried in Bixby, Oklahoma. Albert Leroy Ritchie and Minnie Etta Schoonover had the following children:
