Arthur "Art" Alexander Ritchie⁽³⁴⁾ was born on Jan 23 1891 in Fairfield Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.⁽⁶²⁾ He died on Jul 4 1955 in Marietta, Ohio. ⁽⁴³⁾ His obituary appeared in the Tuesday Evening Marietta Times, July 5, 1955: "Arthur A. Ritchie, 64, of 401 Lord Street, died Monday at 2:10 a.m., in Marietta Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ritchie was admitted to the hospital Sunday evening. For 50 years he was employed as a ditcher and sawer by the Constitution Stone Co. At the time of his death he was employed as a night watchman at Brickwede Brothers (Furniture) Co. Mr. Ritchie was born January 23, 1891, in Dunham Township, a son of the late Alexander and Diantha Flowers Ritchie. On March 20, 1911, he was married to Margaret A. Gourley, who survives with two sons, Floyd and Edwin Ritchie, both of Marietta, and five grand children. Mr. Ritchie was a member of the Willow Spring Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2:30 p.m., at the Doudna & McClure Funeral Home with burial in the Gravel Bank Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home." He was buried in Gravel Bank (Riverview) Cemetery near Constitution, Ohio. ⁽⁴³⁾

He was married to Margaret Ann Gourley (daughter of John Gourley and Sarah Mitchum) on Mar 20 1911 in Washington County, Ohio.⁽⁶³⁾ Margaret Ann Gourley⁽⁶⁴⁾ was born on Mar 7 1895 in Dunham Twp., Washington Co., Ohio. She died on Nov 27 1964 in Marietta, Ohio.⁽⁴³⁾ Her obituary appeared in the Saturday evening Nov 28 1964 Marietta Times and read; "Mrs. Arthur Ritchie -- Mrs. Margaret Gourley Ritchie, 68, widow of Arthur Ritchie, died at her home at 131 S. Fourth St. at 7 p.m. yesterday. -- She was born in Marietta on March 7, 1896, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Gourley. She was married to Arthur Ritchie. He died July 4, 1955. One son survives, Edward Alexander Ritchie of the home. One son, Floyd Ritchie, is deceased. Two brothers and on sister survive, James Gourley of Ashland, Edward Gourley of Mississippi, Drusie of Senecaville. -- Mrs. Ritchie was a member of Willow Spring Chapel. -- Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Doudna & McClure Funeral Home with burial in Riverview Cemetery. 74 ii. Edward Alexander Ritchie was born on Jul 19 1915 in Warren Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.⁽⁶⁵⁾ In his father's obituary his name is mistakenly given as Edwin. He was mentally handicapped and never married. To family members he was last known living with Chuck Whiting, a minister, somewhere around Portsmouth, Ohio. He died in Mar 1968 in Cleveland, Ohio. ⁽⁶⁶⁾
