He was married to Sylvia L. Allender (daughter of George Allender and Emily Berry) on Jan 17 1920. Sylvia L. Allender was born on Apr 30 1897 in Briggs Station, Dunham Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.⁽⁹⁾ She died on Dec 31 1991 in Marietta, Ohio.⁽⁹⁾ Her Marietta Times obituary reads, "Sylvia L. Sayres - Services for Sylvia L. Sayres will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the McClure-Schafer Funeral Home with Dennis Frary officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Bank Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral Home from noon today until the hour of service. The family will be present from 7 to 9 tonight. - Mrs. Sayres, 94, of Marietta Rt. 1 died Tuesday (Dec 31, 1991) at Selby General Hospital. - She was born April 30, 1897, at Briggs Station to George and Emily Berry Allender. She had lived on South Seventh Street in Marietta for many years prior to moving to Reno three years ago. She had been a cook at the Wakefield Hotel, the Crystal Dairy and the Betsy Mills Club, and had been a housemother at Marietta College. She was a member of the Pinehurst Christian Church, Marietta Chapter No. 59, Order of the Eastern Star, J.E. McCoy Rebekah Lodge, the Buell Relief Corps. and Daughters of America. She was a charter member of the Lady Eagles and had been named an honorary member. - She married Otis B. Sayres on Jan. 17, 1920. He died on Nov. 5, 1948. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, six sisters and one daughter. - She is survived by three sons, Robert, Donald and Earl of Marietta; one daughter, Viola Mason of Canton; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren." She was buried on Jan 3 1992 in Gravel Bank (Riverview) Cemetery near Constitution, Ohio.⁽⁹⁾ Otis B. Sayres and Sylvia L. Allender had the following children:
