7. James Newton Ritchey (24) was born on Mar 1 1850 in Newells Run, Newport Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.(25) (22) He died on Oct 10 1928 in Marietta, Ohio.(26) His obituary appeared in the Thursday Evening Oct 11 1928 Marietta Times and reads: "James Newton Ritchey, aged 78 years, for many years a resident of Marietta and Washington County, died at the home of his brother, at South Olive on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Death was due asthma strangulation. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. W. W. McClure officiating. Interment will be made in the family plot. Mr. Ritchey was the son of the late Jacob and Nancy Ritchey. He was born at Newell's Run and lived there until after his marriage with Miss Margaret A. Miracle on January 1, 1871. The couple made their home in Marietta. For a number of years the deceased was engaged in the oil fields of Washington county and he later engaged in the grocery business on Greene street. Following the death of Mrs. Ritchie in 1912 the deceased made his home at Cornerville, where he lived until about a year ago. Then he went to the home of his brother at South Olive. Besides his brother he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frank Hill of 411-1/2 Franklin Street, Marietta." He was buried on Oct 13 1928 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Marietta, Ohio.(27)

He was married to Margaret A. Miracle on Jan 1 1871 in Washington County, Ohio.(28) They were married by S. S. McGee, a Justice of the Peace. Margaret A. Miracle (29) was born on Nov 4 1852 in Ohio. (22) 1900 Census says she was born in 1857 She died on Dec 13 1912.(22) She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Marietta, Ohio.
