33. Pearl Blaine Ritchie (45) was born on Mar 22 1876 in Newport Twp., Washington Co., Ohio.(71) Pearl's birth date is given as March 22, 1875 in his father's Civil War pension records. The December 7, 1893 edition of the Marietta Times reported that he was found guilty of stealing. The Wednesday June 2, 1897 edition of the Marietta Times reported; "Ohio vs. Pearl Ritchie ? verdict of guilty of burglary and larceny." On June 9th the same paper reported; "Ohio vs. Pearl Ritchie and John Jenkins, cases for petit larceny continued" and "Pearl Ritchie who was sentenced to serve three years in the Ohio Penitentiary for burglary and larceny at Rice's Refinery was taken to Columbus yesterday by Sheriff McCallister." After he paid his debts to society he moved to Parkersburg, West Virginia and from all indications settled down.
