About 1894, my grandfather, James McClellan Ross, his parents, one aunt, one uncle, and his siblings came to Gadsden, Alabama. They came from Indiana where they had been for about 5 years. Prior to that they had lived in the Ohio region of Guernsey, Harrison, and Tuscawaras Counties from about 1820's.
I am researching both my father's side (Ross) and my mother's side (Long) and any and all collateral relatives related to these families.
These include Ross, Owens, Long, and Lewis is my grandparents' generation.
Additionally in my greatgrandparents' generation, Turner, Smith, Newton, & Liner.
In the next generation I add Kennedy, Chadwell, Brothers, Whisnant, Smelcer, Allison, Liner, and Ahl.
Additional lines can be gotten from the genealogical tree provided.
This is my research and that of others who has contributed up to this point in time. This, like all genealogical research, is constantly changing. Any updates provided to me will be incorporated as quickly as possible so that others may benefit.
I hope that the information provided here will make someone else's research a little easier.
