Never able to find a Hickinson Parker in the census indexes. However, have been able to find a Hickerson Parker twice. But when I looked up the 1850 census for Monroe County Kentucky, I found that "Hickison" was how it was spelled. I still lean to the theory that his name was pronounced Hickerson; becuase Samuel "Pa" creek's middle name was Hickerson.

Elizabeth's mother was Isabel Ferguson. I hve been told that she came to th USA from Ireland, but the 1850 census says she was born in Tennessee.

Mary Elizabeth was always called Elizabeth; and that is how she is listed on the 1850 census. The only time I have seen her as Mary Elizabeth is on Samuel's death certificate. Parents: Hickinson PARKER and Isabelle FERGUSON.
