The Langston Family Reunion was started the week of August 15, 1928 by Emma Langston-Prayer. Emma was Lewis Langston's oldest daughter and second of 15 children. She shared a birthday with her father on August 15th. The whole family gathered to honor Lewis on that special day, and Lewis requested that the family returned every year on that date. For the past 72 years without a single miss, about 75 to 130 members of the Family meet in or around Goldsboro, NC on the third weekend in August. My mother Macie Langston-Sauls was the ninth child in the family. About ten years ago I (Samuel R. Sauls) became the Historian for The Langston/Sauls Families. My research is ongoing in hope of generating a Family Tree this year.
