I started putting together a family tree last March and from there I started a Welborn/Simpson Reunion the first saturday in June, held at the Buster Hamm Building in Stringer, Jasper County MS and will be held each and ever year from here on out. I never new my grandfathers name nor my grant grandparents on the Welborns side until I started the family tree. It has been so rewarding for me to find out my roots and were my family came from. I have also started this year a Craft/Carlisle reunion that will be held on the third saturday in July from here on out. I have met cousins that I havn't seen since I was about seven or eight years old, "and I'm 50 now" so yes these reunions are great. Families now days don't get together like they did 30 or more years ago. People live a much busier life now and really don't stop and thing about pass 1st cousins and some not even that. We all have got to stop and slow down and enjoy life and what each other more. I was one of those busy people until my dad had cancer and died, my cousin and then I got lung cancer. Since I have started the family tree I have found just how much and what runs in my family. That in its self is worth doing a family tree. Your family medical history. Never thought that would be all that important. Welcome to My Family and all the people that are in it.......
