THIRD GENERATION

8. Bernard Ben SCHETTLER was born on 18 Aug 1876 in Breda, Iowa. He died on 9 Mar 1952. Bernard Schettler married Emma Hoebing in 1901. They lived in the Breda area all their married life and had 14 children. They are Eugene deceased - Carroll, IA, Cecelia, deceased, Vincent, deceased. Leonard deceased - Carroll, IA. Colette (Mrs. Herman Grote) MT. Carmel, IA, Cyril - Harlingen, TX, Marcella (Mrs. Ray Gross) - Breda, IA, Lauren (Sister Karen)- St. Rose Convent - LaCrosse, WI, Lucille - Sister Lucille - St. Rose Convent - LaCrosse, WI, Georgia, Deceased, and Ray - Breda, IA and Rita Lorenz - Omaha, NE, Leona and Georgia Passed away two days apart during WW 1 from the flu. Ray Schettler served with the Armed Forces during W W 11.

Ben and Emma celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in February of 1951.

He was married to Emma Hoebing SCHETTLER on 12 Feb 1901 in St. Bernard's Church Breda, Iowa. Emma Hoebing SCHETTLER was born on 5 Apr 1881. She died on 29 May 1952. They Lived on a farm one miles north and one half miles east of Breda until retiring in 1949 when they moved into their newly built home in Breda. Bernard Ben SCHETTLER and Emma Hoebing SCHETTLER had the following children:

40 x. Rita Lorenz SCHETTLER resided Omaha, Nebraska.
41 xi. Leona SCHETTLER died in 1918. Leona died from the flu.
42 xii. Georgia SCHETTLER died in 1923.
43 xiii. Vincent SCHETTLER died in 1905. Vincent died as a Infant.
44 xiv. Cecilia SCHETTLER died in 1918. Cecilia died from the flu.
