13 years old. in 1880 in Cairo, Henderson County KY. He died on 25 Jan 1929
in Ballard, KY. Barlow KY, Feb. 2 (Special) Funeral services for Mr. Sammy
Dorsey Lee, 81 years old, who died at his home Friday January 25, were held Sunday
afternoon at the New Liberty church with Rev. W. W. Henley, officiating. "Burial
was in the Church cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fannie Lee, five
children, Mrs. Amanda Conway of Paducah, Mrs. Albert Harmon, Mrs. Homie Holt,
and S. C. Lee of Kevil and Mrs. J. R. Jordan, of St. Louis. A sister Mrs, Mary
Denton, of Robards, KY, and twelve grandchildren. He was buried in New Liberty
Cemetery. Great Great grandson of Nicholas Dorsey of Huntington Quarter.

My Dear Samuel,
Your very kind and come letter of the 27th and the 29th come to hand about five
day ago, am glad to hear that you and Fannie are well but sorry to hear that
the dear little have the chills occasional, I would have written to you sooner
but I was waiting to write something definite about my coming I do not know yet
whether I will go along or Eddie will go with me. Mary expect to marry the 16th
and we all expect to leave here the seventeenth . Mary will go to the Frog
Island I expect to start to his mother, on antisit, and when he can get his money
her now expects to go to Kansas, Mike has bought this place, that is Mr. Conley
part. I suppose Mike will get the money about the first of January. I do hope
Mr. Conley will find a place to suit him, near where you line. I want you all
to be near to gather and be company for each other and help each other along
true friend will do.
I will say in regard to the money that John owe me I did not expect him to pay
any of it this year. I am sorry for John and I would help him and all the rest
of you more if I could with out his furnishing my self. I expect to keep what
property. I have and give it to my children when I do not need it any longer,
that is what i want to do and I don't think any person will object.
Dear Sammy this has been a sad Sabbath day to me it is the last Sabbath that
I ever expect to spend in this house and it may be the last that I ever will
spend in KY. When I thank of the change I think of the past, and then of the
future, but I cannot anticipate my future happiness to be equal to apart of the
past, but what I have done I thought it would be for the better. I have not
acted from any impulse of a moment, it has been bothering me alone time, but
I could not persuade my self to take such a course until very lately. I am to
satisfied yet. I must you writing as it is late all the other had gone to be
a before I commenced writing. I will tell you all the news when I get their
write to me when you get this I am going to stop with John a while is the children
for me give my love to Fannie accept a share for yourself. I remain your loving

from Willie (brother) as you will see by the part he sent to you. Now Mother
I want you for once to lay business down immediately and come down here and
I will tell you what I have not time to write. Now Mother I will look foryou
I am busy at work and worked down and some of the children are sick and I
am trying to get my crop in, but if you are not here by Wednesday night- I
will have to go after you. I am bound to see you right away. Nothing but
sickness can stop things. I do not want you to think me abrupt = with you in
the least for in all kindness and love I look for you. I want to see you
right away and then I will explain to you so be sure to come by Wednesday
night. Just bounce into your buggy out for Sammy or John's and don't
pull back on those lines till you halt girl- my house. So looking for you I
sign your son til death
