Gentry Dies at 86; Rites Set
Mrs. Sudie E. Genrty, 86, who taught in Broadway Methodist Church's Sunday School
for 55 years, died at 2:20 p.m. Monday at Piper's Rest Home. 8/11/1958
She was the widow of J. M. Gentry, who died in 1952.
A native of Henderson County, Mrs. Gentry was active in many religious and social
organizations.
She was a charter member of the Mother Club and of the Woman's Christian Temperance
Union. Other organizations of which she was a member included the Women's Society
of Christian. Service, the United Daughters of the Confederacy the Gold Star
Mothers of America, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge.
Funeral Wednesday
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs, Tillman Grisham of Nashville, Tenn.
Three sisters, Mrs. Mary L. O'Bryan and Mrs. Rosa L. Pryor, both of Paducah and
Mrs. D. P. Nichols of Lone Oak; a brother, William Roy Lee of Paducah; a great-grandson,
Roy S. Dawson III of Jefferson, Ind., and a great-great-grand-daughter, Judith
Ann Dawson, also of Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roth Funeral Chapel with
the Rev. James A. Fisher and the Rev. James P. Iron officiating. Burial will
be in Maplelawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Barnes, Hal, Hall, Craig White, Lynne Werner, James
Houser, Norman Sullivan, J. O. Fulkerson, T. R. McCann, Tom Rogers, Scott Hancock,
Abe Thompson and Charles Vandervelde.

She was married to James CRAWFORD. James CRAWFORD was born on 13 Apr 1864 in IL. He died in 1930 in Near Paducah McCracken County, KY.
She was married to James Milton GENTRY.
James Milton GENTRY was born in 1881 in Cookville, TN.. He died
on 25 Nov 1952 in Paducah KY. J. M. Gemtry. 71. of Paducah, Dies
James Milton Gentry, 71 died at Riverside Hospital today at 9:45 a.m. He was
resident of 709 N. 24th and had lived in Paducah 49 years, coming here form Cookville,
Tenn.
He had been employed at Wahls Laundry since 1914 and was a member of Broadway
Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows. Prior to 1914, Mr. Gentry was connected
with The Sun Democrat circulation department.
Survivors include his widow, Mr. Sudie Gentry: a daughter, Mrs. Tlilman Grisham
of Brentwood, Tenn. Four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Roberts of Detroit, Mich., Mrs.
William Carr and Mrs Roxie brown of Cookville, Tenn. and Mrs. Lucille Daniels
of Knoxville, Tenn. Five brother, Clarence Gentry of Atlanta, GA., Robert Gentry
of Byron, Calif., Faye Gentry and Ray Gentry of Detroit, Mich.; two grandsons;
a grand-daughter and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services for James Milton Gentry, 71 who died here Tuesday, will be
held Friday at 10 a. m. at Roth funeral chapel, the Rev. Walter Mischke officiating.
