Annie Mae Black, Easley
Annie Mae Chappell Black, 89, formerly of Mossie Smith Road, wife of the late Roy K. Black, d ied Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Oakmont West Nursing Center.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late James and Arzilee Aiken Campbell, Mrs. Black r etired from Swirl Inc. and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Ida Looper Sun day School Class.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth L. and Geraldine Black of Easley; three daug hters, Elizabeth Dickard and Joyce Holliday, both of Easley, and Joan Smith and her husband , Cameron of Greenville; a sister, Grace Simmons of Pickens; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Blac k Jenkins and her husband, Lynn of Greer; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In add ition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Black was predeceased by a son, Russell Black and b y a grandson, Stephen Black.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. David Ga llamore and the Rev. Marion T. Hudgens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m . today and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The Honorary Escort will be the Ida Looper Sunday Schoo l Class, the Ruth Sunday School Class, and the W.M.U. of Rock Springs Baptist Church, along w ith Wayne Holcombe, Genny Sitton, Kitty Clardy and Hattie Rosemond.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 114 East Earl St., Anderson, SC 29621 or t o the Family Connection of S.C. Inc., 2712 Middleburg Drive, Suite 103B, Columbia, SC 29204.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Joyce Holliday, 1112 Zion School Road, Easley.
