The Brasel - Servis - Simpkins FamiliesUpdated September 5, 2000 |
JOHN BRASEL was a descendant of the BRACEWELLS of North Carolina. I followed his westward migration to Tennessee, where he had received a land grant. John Brasel was the father of JAMES BRASEL, who was born about 1811. Following his death, James Brasel's wife and children settled in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas, where many of their descendants live today. My research of the ZERBE/SERVIS family continues. I have concentrated on the descendants of MARTIN ZIRBE and his son PHILIPP ZERBE, of Kettenbach, Germany. Philipp Zerbe immigrated to the United States in 1710. I'm especially interested in the SERVIS families that settled in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. I am seeking information about ALVIN ACEY SIMPKINS and his ancestors. A.A. Simpkins was born in 1888. He lived in northern Arkansas, and died there in 1964. He married Roberta Bradford and raised five sons. Father and all five sons were railroad workers. Updated June 2000 |
