Summer 2003- After spending yet another spectacular family reunion/4th of July with the Stewart Clan in Gateway, Oregon, I decided it was time to "do my roots" (not refering to my hair). Not just for me...but you know ..for kids! I come from an immediate family of estrangement, abandoment and/or distance. The only immediatet family member I see on a weekly basis is my mom (Carolyn), who I adore, look up to and thank, she's a hero. The others ... yearly is an accomplishment (it's Okay Matt, I still LOVE you)! Thanks to my new family (via my husband Josh) I would'nt have much in the way of an extended family. I now have a brother (Mark)who enjoys shopping as much as me, a dad (Jon) who never turns down a barbecue, a Mom away from Mom (Myra)...even in Vagas baby, another dad (Bob) who is not just any other dad, Uncle Doug who's always hospitable with a hug and a beloved man who insists I call him grandpa (Grandpa Singleton), and until now I've never had anyone to call "grandpa". Thanks guys! You are my therapy, inspiration and now my newest hobby!
