Michael LUTTRELL of Fauquier County in the Colony
of Virginia being weak of body but of sound mind and
memory thanks be give to GOD for it therefore calling to
mind the mortality of body and knowing that it be
appointed for all men to once to die, make and ordain
this my last will and testament that is to say principally
and first of all: I give and recommend my soul into the
hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I
recommend to earth to be buried in a decent Christian
burial at the descresion of my Executors, nothing
doubting that the general resurrection I shall receive the
same by the Mighty Power of GOD and as touching
such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased GOD to
bless me in this life. I give demise and dispose of the
same, in the following for and manner:

ITEM I give to my daughter, Franklin McKinzey my large

and enjoyed during her natural life and after her decease

Luttrell and John Luttrell to be Executors of this my last
will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow,
revoke and disamuel all and every other former
testament will, legate and bequeaths ratifying this to be

"Wright", Nancy -- Died, of general debility, at the home of her Grand-daughter, Mrs. Samuel Rogers, six miles west of Astoria, on Sept. 23, 1897, Nancy Wright; aged 83 years, 8 months and 25 days. she was the second daughter of SHELTON and SARAH LUTTRELL, and was born in the state of Tennessee'; was three times married - first to BAXTER BAKER, next to JOSEPH MACE and lastly to JOSEPH WRIGHT. Three children, by her second husband - Aurelius MACE, residing in Kansas; MARTHA WRIGHT of Browning, and MRS. ADDIE STROOPS of Baders - survive her. Deceased was a member of the Baptist Church, and was a devoted christian. Funeral services, conducted by REV. STEPHEN ROBERTSON, were held at the Ridgeville Church last Sunday, interment at the Ridgeville cenetery. She was buried in Browning Twnshp, Schuyler Co, IL - Old Rigeville Cenetery. "LUTTRELL, SHELTON -- Died at his residence in Browning township April 6, 1882, of general debility, MR. SHELTON LUTTRELL; aged 87 years, 10months and 24 days. The deceased was one of the early settlers of this county, having located in Browning township in 1834, where he resided up to the time of his death. He was born in Casey County, Kentucky, May 12, 1795 -- was married to SARAH BRYANT, November 13, 1813, who survives him, having lived together 69 years. They had 12 children, 10 grand-children, 64 great-grand-children and 8 great-great-grand-children. Mr Luttrell was a member of the Christian Church for 45 years and died respected in the community, where he had resided nearly half a century. (While in the office last week, MR FELIX II. THORNTON, son-in-law of the deceased informed us that he sent us the particulars of Mr. Luttrell's death in April, bit it was not received or was mislaid. --Editor)" The information about this family is in much contention. It seems that there was another Shelton Luttrell (son of William Luttrell and Elizabeth, unknown who they are). Therefore, various information is likely mixed up between these two Shelton
Luttrells. In contention are mostly the children of this family, and their birthdates. You will notice that the information given here does not fit very well, with two children born two months apart.

I would love to get clear, substantiated evidence for both Shelton Luttrells, their children, spouses, and ancestry.

The farm owned by the late Shelton Luttrell was deeded to Robert Gale recently. It is the land that was first transferred from the government in 1839 and has remained in the Luttrell family name until now.

"Shelton Luttrell settled on section 16 (Browning Twp) in 1828, (about 2 miles NW of Browning Villiage) where he raised a large family and where his widow still lives (1882).
