following that is to say: First I give and bequeath unto my beloved
wife Jule Ann Garner all my real and personal estate during her
natural life as my sole executor to my estate consisting of three
hundred and fifteen acres of land in the County of Wilkes North
Carolina on the waters of Rock Creek and all my personal proprty after
her death is disposed to be equally divided between my three sons
William C. Garner, Robert N. Garner and John E. Garner. And lastly as
to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate goods and
chattels of what kind and nature so ever I give and bequeath the same
to my said beloved wife Jule Ann whom I hereby appoint sole executrix
of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal the 12 day of May in the year of our lord one
thousand and sixty two."

Following the will is this entry "I certify that the foregoing paper
____ a true and perfect copy of the will of H.T. Garner decd who died
at Camp Mangiron in June last and that the said will has been lost or
misplaced or destroyed since the death of the said. Witness this 22
April 1863". Signed by Jane Gray and William Garner.
