Sarah Flack wrote to her rother Maurice regularly from California. In one lettershe tells about taking her whole family of ten to the beach for a day. They rode four miles on a train and only had to payfive cents for all tem of them. In another letter, she mentioned thaSan Francisco was quite a large city and she was quite content with her sevety chickens and her gardn. Ina letter written in Jan 1900, she tells about her father=in-law George Flack, who decided to go to England to see his father. The ship reache Waterford Harbor off the Irish Coast only two miles from land when it sand. George's body was never recovered although his relatives in England offered a reward. only seven bodies were ever recovere. The ship sank on 4 Jan 1900. Parents: George COWLEY and Susan MALEN.
