Excerpt from the above-referenced source:
"Twin brothers John and Thomas were the only Wiswall heads-of-family to come to America. John came first, on 24 Jul 1633 early in the second wave, and settled in Plymouth Colony at Dorchester. Thomas remained behind with his recent bride, Elizabeth, who was pregnant by that time. After their son Enoch was born, Thomas brought them to America, landing on 26 Aug 1635, and they lived for a while with his brother John until Thomas had built his own place. John returned to England in 1638 to take a bride, Margaret, and then returned to Dorchester. John and Margaret had eleven children, including three sons. Their son Benjamin died shortly after he was married without issue. Their son John had two sons but there is not record of either having married. Their son Henry died as an infant. As a result of this John's Wiswall line died out. Thus, all of the Wiswalls in America are descended from Thomas. Thomas's children, grand-children, and great-grand-children stayed, for the most part, in the Dorchester and/or Greater Boston area. But the following generations began to spread out, first to Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, then New York, and gradually to the Mid-West, the South and even the West."
