Notes for William Draper
William Draper bred and raised horses. It's said he mostly sold them to the U.S. Calvary. In almost every picture of his son Frank, there's also a horse.

William was probably born in Indiana, but moved to Illinois as a child. His father died there of measles when William was about 12, and it seems as if the family was scattered as a result. As a young man he settled in Kansas446, page 24, dwelling 162, family 164 (household of William Fitzsimons), and raised a family.188, page 3, dwelling 16, family 16; microfilm page 401 Around the time of the land openings of 1889, William homesteaded in Logan County, Oklahoma.234
