FIRST GENERATION

1. George Martin Spaltro ⁽¹⁾ was born on 18 Feb 1943 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine. He was baptized on 27 Feb 1943 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine. Served in the Army during the Viet Nam War. George went to his first nine years of school to St. Dominic's Catholic School in Portland, ME. His four years of high school were at Portland High School. He graduated in 1961 and moved to California in 1962. He spent nearly three years working for ITT Kellogg at Vandenberg, AFB until he was drafted into the Army in December of 1964. Basic training was at Fort Polk, LA. Spent a year and a half stationed at Fort Lewis, WA before shipping out to Viet Nam. Spent a total of 66 days in Viet Nam before being discharged. Returned to work at Vandenberg for two years. Relocated to Southern Cal to go to work for McDonnell Douglas Corp in Huntington Beach, CA. Worked for McDonnell Douglas for five years in telecommunications. Left Douglas to go to work for Econolite Control Products in Northern Calif. Econolite is a manufacture of traffic signal equipment. He worked for them for 9.5 years in Northern Ca, Bloomington, MN, and Richmond, Va. Left Econolite and went to work for Safetran Traffic Systems and relocated back to California. Has been with them for the past ten years.
