Adrian Times & Exposition[ (January 15, 1873)
Cambridge News...On Saturday, the 4th inst., Mrs John Ayres died after a few days illness. A somewhat remarkable peculiarity in connection with her life is of worthy notice, which all who have faith in Gypsi Prophecy would be glad to learn. It is a current saying that previous to her first marriage her fortune revealed, which was that during her life she would have four husbands, each named John, and that she would die leaving the fourth one her survivor. Strange as it may seem, it is nevertheless true. The given name of each was John. The first and second were drowned, the third thrown from his horse and instantly killed, and the fourth with whom she was living at the time of her decease, is Mr John Ayres, of Springville.
