When Hollie was born, the Health Commissioner issued a "Mother's Certificate" instead of a birth certificate. The difference is a mother's certificate is never recorded in the county. Although the mother's certificate states he was born 5-9-1909 RR Lyons, OH (2 miles south of the MI/OH line) and at this time there was a descremency of where the OH/MI line was, and that Alta Smith and Pearl Ayres are his parents is not a legally binding document.

When Hollie was old enough he took the mother's cerrificate to Dr C H Heffron in Adrian and had him issue a birth certificate for Adrian, MI. Although the mother's cerrtificate is true and accurate, for all legal purposes Hollie was born in Adrian, MI.

Lilliann worked running a frozen food locker and butcher shop while at the same time she managed and supervised modeling show for young ladies.
