Edith Ayres, 93, formerly of the Cherry Street Villa on West Maumee Street in Adrian, died May 19, 1986 at Hillhaven Convalescent Center. She was born May 1, 1893 in Wood County, OH to Charles and Mary (Matthews) Crandall. On May 9, 1934 she married John F Ayres and he died in 1950. Mrs Ayres was a member of the Methodist Church in Ray, MI. Survivors include a brother, Lester Crandall of Toledo, two grand-nieces, Mrs Richard (Lynette) Merillat of Adrian and Mrs Donald (Linda) Burack of Onsted. She was proceeded in death by a sister Irene Crandall. Services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
