Josephine Adell Des Ermia (b. June 1845, d. June 15, 1913)

Josephine Adell Des Ermia was born June 1845 in Michigan, and died June 15, 1913 in Cambridge Township, Michigan. She married Andrew Ayres on April 14, 1864, son of Benjamin Ayres and Mary Woodham.

Mrs Josephine Ayres Passed Away Sunday

Widow of the late Andrew Ayres, prominent in Cambridge. Cancer of the liver caused the death Sunday of Mrs Josephine Ayes, widow of Andew Ayres and well known resident of Onsted, death coming to her family home after an illness of several months. She had been in ill health since January but had not been confined to her bed but three weeks.

Mrs Ayres in girlhood was Josephine Des Ermia and came of a prominent Cambridge family. Her husband who died on March 20, was one of the best known Cambridge residents.

Had Mrs Ayres lived another day she would have celebrated her 68th birthday. Four daughters survive, Mrs C D Smith and Mrs W E Rogers, both of Spokane Wash., Mrs Charles Kerr of Onsted and Mrs E L Selleck of Manitou Beach. Mrs Rogers has been here for some months assisting the twin daughters in the care of their mother.

The funeral services are arranged for Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 3 o'clock from the Cambridge Junction church with burial there.
