Note: Alexandre and Salome came to Oregon sometime between 1855 and 1863 when Alexandre was listed on the Militery list for Clatsop County, Oregon. He had 200 acres of land on the Johns River 18 miles upriver from Astoria, Oregon. He had 3 milk cows, 2 oxen, 7 cattle, and 9 hogs. He raised wheat, oats, tobacco, peas, beans, potatoes, and had 20acres in orchards, produced 300 lbs. butter, 25 tons hay, 5 tons, clover. He had a dock on his waterfront where the ships could pick up his products for market.

Note: Iver was a sea Captain and his ship picked up produce from Alexandre CORNEAU's farm, which is how he met Alexandre and Salome's daughter, Mary.

bullet Jean-Baptiste CORNEAU was born about 1820. ***** Thanks to Janice Anne (Clark) Moore for this information.***** I have a letter from Jean Baptiste Corneau written from Frenchville, Maine on May 14, 1899 addressed to "My Dear Brother" who was Alexandre Corneau married to Salomee Michaud. In it he says his wife "is dead this spring at the age of 76, and I am 79." He gives a wonderful description of the changes in the area around Frenchville at that time.

Alexandre and Salomee had only one child, Marie Delina Corno, (Corneau) who married Ivar Haaven. Their daughter, Salome, married Walter J. Blakemore, and their daughter, Neldora, was my mother. Parents: Alexandre CORNEAU and Marie-Scholastique L' ITALIEN .
