Dracut carpenter, WWII Army Vet, 75, Dracut -- Romeo J. N. Demers, 75 a long time Dracut resident, died yesterday morning Nov 8, 2000 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Theresa R. St. Gelais Demers. Born in Lawrence on April 6 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Bosse Demers. He had worked in maintenance for the Dracut School System before his retirement. He was also self-employed as a finish carpenter. Mr. Demers served in the Army during World War II and also continued his military duty later in the Army Reserve. He was a communicant of Ste. Therese Church in Dracut. Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rose Marie and Jean Chandonnet of Tyngsboro; five sons and four daughters-in-law. Maurice W. Demers and wife Rena, Emile R. and wife Reena, Romeo J. N. Jr. and wife Errin, all of Dracut, Allain R. Demers and Friend Amy cooper of Litchfield, N. H. and Leonard H. and wife Bernice, residing in Pennsylvania; four brothers and a sister-in-law. Phillip and George Demers, both of Lowell, Alcide Demers and Rene and Virginia Demers, all residing in Maryland; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosanna Dargoonian of Salem, N. H. Blanche and Roger Winton and Evelyn and Gus Vaillancour, all of Dery N. H. , Yvette and Bert Poulin of Lswrence and Garabed Dargoonian of Andover, and 11 grand-children and one Great grandchild.
