100. B MONTIE ADAMS
was born on
31 Oct 1876 in ADAMS HOLLOW, REYNOLDS CO., MO. He was buried in RAYFIELD CEMETARY,
REYNOLDS CO.,MO. B Montie lived his entire 93 years in the Lesterville area.
Montie's schooling was more extensive than was usual at that time. He attended
the Dobbins School for at least three terms beyond what was expected. He figured
as long as his might learn something new, school was worth continuing. His philosophy
of wanting to learn and saying that "a job worth doing was worth doing right,"
were his trademarks throughout his life.
He developed into a very skilled man He was an experienced farmer in raising
grain, filling silos, shearing sheep and making sorghum molasses. Mont was his
own blacksmith, veterinarian and mechanic. He worked in timber, sawmilled and
hauled lumber to the train at Glover, Missouri, by team and wagon. He worked
as an overseer for the county road crews. This rememberance is by Roy M Adams
He was married to LUCY CORNELIA ALCORN on 26 Aug 1900.
LUCY CORNELIA ALCORN died on 7 Mar 1966 in FARM SE LESTERVILLE, MO. B
