SIXTH GENERATION

34. GEORGE ADAMS was born on 13 Sep 1805 in NORTH CAROLINA. He died after 10 Jun 1862 in REYNOLDS CO, MO. He was buried in RAYFIELD CEMETARY, REYNOLDS CO.,MO. From Robert Mc Grew --- George, apparently moving with his parents, followed his brother Nelson into Missouri, settling in the western strip of St. Francois that became part of Iron and Reynolds Counties. He married Charlotte after coming to Missouri and moved to the south of David, onto the West Fork of the Black, Just west of Lesterville. Records show his farm to be in Section 18, Township 32, Range 2 East. There are only 11 children listed but there are possibly more. There are many descendants still living in Reynolds County.
George, his wife Charlotte, and three of their dhildren died in a Small-Pox epidemic in 1862. As I understand the story, friends and relatives were afraid to come to the house, so Moses, their 10 year old son had to dig their graves and bury the bodies. A grandson, Ray Adams, caused a stone inscribed with all their names, to be placed in the Rayfield Cemetery, where they are buried.

He was married to CHARLOTTE CARTY (daughter of MOSES CARTY and ELIZABETH) on 9 Mar 1835. CHARLOTTE CARTY was born on 25 Apr 1816 in KY. She was born on 25 Apr 1816 in KY. She died in 1862 in REYNOLDS CO, MO. She was buried in RAYFIELD CEMETARY, REYNOLDS CO.,MO. GEORGE ADAMS and CHARLOTTE CARTY had the following children:

47 v. RICHARD ADAMS was born in 1844 in MO. He died in 1862 in REYNOLDS CO, MO. He was buried in 1862 in RAYFIELD CEMETARY, REYNOLDS CO.,MO.
48 vi. MARTHA ADAMS was born in 1846.
