She was born February 17, 1842 in Talka, Mecklenberg, Germany1, and died September 08, 1912 in Attica, Wyoming County, New York @6:30AM.

MORTUARY RECORD
Christian J. Schroeder, one of Attica's octogenarian residents, and a man who enjoyed the respect and esteem of friends and neighbors, died Sunday morning at 6:30 o'clock at his at his home on Market Steet after a long illness. Over three years ago, in February 1909, he was first taken ill and for the past two months he had been confined to the bed. His death was attributed to old age and general debility. He was 80 years old.
For nearly half a century Mr. Schroeder had been a resident of Attica. Born on December 31st., 1831, near Suelze, Mecklenburg, Germany, he came to America in November 1863, and located in Attica where he had since resided. Three years before leaving Germany, on September 14th, 1860, he was united in marriage to Miss Sophia Bartels, who survives him together with six of the eight childern born to them. The Childern are, Mrs. Frank Troan of Rochester; Mrs. Henry Blackburn and Mrs. Frank Alexander of Buffalo, Mrs. Ernest Drewett or Conneaut, Ohio, and Miss Reca and William Schroeder who live at home. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Carl Heiden of Rochester and fourteen grandchildern.
Deceased was a member of Einigkeit Lodge, No. 336, D.O.H., being the oldest member of that organization, and a large delegation of the order attended the funeral, which was held at his late home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. A. A. Murch, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiated at the house, and the services at the grave were in charge of the D.O.H. Lodge. The pallbearers were John Krauss, Franz Bruekmaier, Henry Richter, William Sangbush, Gust Schwab, and John White.
Among the out of town friends at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Troan and Mrs. John Steinmiller of Rochester; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blackburn, Misses Gladys and Dorothy Blackburn, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Alexander and childern and Mr. Charles Schroeder of Buffalo, and Mrs. Ernest Drewett and son of Conneaut, Ohio.

On the left is a family plot for the STEDMAN family with a large family stone. Behind there you should be able to easily see a modern style granite stone belonging to Clara and William SCHROEDER. Standing by the STEDMAN plots and facing William & Clara's stone you can see directly in front of you the grave sites of Christian and Sophia. The layout is as follows: on the right is a typical rounded stone labeled SCHROEDER, Son of Christian and Sophia, Born Dec. 25, 1872, Died Feb. 26, 1877, Aged 4 years 2 mo. 31 days. To the left of this are small marker stones labeled: Henry 1869-1892, Father 1831-1912, Mother 1842-1912, Reca 1861-1926, and Robert 1921-1927. Reca and Robert's are placed to be read facing west.

OPHIA BARTELS:
Mrs. Sophia Bartels Schroeder, widow of Christian J. Schroeder, died at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, Sept. 8, 1912, at her home on Market Street, just fourteen weeks after the death of her husband, who passed away on Sunday, June 2d. She was in the 71st year of her age.
Mrs. Schroeder was born in Talka, Mecklenburg, Germany, on February 17th, 1842, and spent her childhood in that country. On September 14, 1860, she was united in marriage to Christian J. Schroeder, and three years later they came to America and located in Attica, Wyoming County, where for nearly a half century they were well known and respected residents. For many years Mrs. Schroeder had sufffered with asthma, but the past summer her health had improved and she was able to be about the home and was occasionally able to be out of doors. A heavy cold contracted last of August was the cause of her death, after ten days' illness.
She was the mother of eight childern, six of whom survive her. William Schroeder and Miss Reca Schroeder of Attica; Mrs. Frank Troan of Rochester; Mrs. Henry Blackburn and Mrs. Frank Alexander of Buffalo, and Mrs. Ernest Drewett of Conneaut, O. She also leaves one brother, Charles Bartels of Attica, Wyoming County, one sister, Mrs. John Steinmiller of Rochester, and fourteen grandchildern.
The funeral was held from her late home on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock and was largely attended. The Rev. A. A. Murch, rector of St. Luke's church officiated and interment to place in Forest Hill cemetery. The bearers were three son-in-laws, Messrs. Frank Troan, Frank Alexander, and Ernest Drewett, three nephews Messrs. Charles and Lewis Schroeder and C. F. Bartels.
Among the friends at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. H. Blackburn, and son Hervey Blackburn, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Alexander and childern, and Mrs. Charles Schroeder and son Horace of Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Troan and Mr. and Mrs. John Steinmiller of Rochester, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Drewett and son of Conneaut, Ohio.
