William and Carolyn Strafford family of Plainfield, Indiana

About Our Family Research


Research on the Page, Greeson, Brown, Rockwell, Strafford, Bishop, Gee, and Fox families (the first 4 surnames are Carolyn's family, the last four are Bill's) has been the object of my genealogical efforts for the last ten years.
Focus has been intermittent but pleasurable. The Page, Greeson, Strafford, and Fox families are resourced back to the immigrant ancestor of that line.

John Page from Dedham, Essex, England, came to the Massachuttes Bay Colony with the Winthrop Fleet in 1630 and settled with his family in Watertown, MA.
Isaac Greeson came from Hannover, Germany, by way of Denmark in 1728 coming through Philadelphia to settle in Guilford (later Orange) County, North Carolina.
John Strafford came to the US from England in 18__ and settled in eastern Iowa. His grandson, William Strafford, Sr. married Florence Bishop in Indianapolis in 1928. They bought a pharmacy in Plainfield IN in 1930 and William, Jr. was born in 1939.
The Bishop line included the Fox (Fuchs) family who came to Ohio and Indiana from Germany in ....
