| The Stroop's of Highland County, We think these may all be decended from Jacob Stroop born in 1780 in Virginia died June 27, 1869 in Whiteoak Twp. and Henry Stroop born between 1780 and 1790 in Virginia married to a Magdaline. I have documented infomation provided by the original Family Bible of William (born March 16, 1808-died December 8, 1873) and Sarah Turner Stroop (born April 3, 1808-died November 22, 1844)to the present day generations. If you are interested in any of these decendents, please also be in contact. Children of William and Sarah Turner Stroop were; 1.Mary Stroop born October 18, 1831-died March 5, 1893. Never married. 2.Morgan Franklin Stroop born April 28, 1833-died March 19, 1921. Married Sara Frances Meredith August 20, 1855. See below. 3.Caroline Stroop born March 9, 1835-died May 19, 1835. 4.Elizabeth Stroop born October 28, 1838-died October 28, 1838. 5.Catharine Stroop born August 14, 1842-died August 14, 1842. 6.John Stroop born October 28, 1843-died October 28,1843. Sarah Turner Stroop died November 22, 1844. We feel the the birth of these children shows a classic example of the RH blood factor and that she was very probably pregnant at the time of her death caused by the build up of antibodies in her blood. On May 23, 1847 William married Elisebeth Phibs born April 12, 1803-died September 9, 1878. There were no children of this marriage, although she had a son (John Q. Phibs born January 14, 1834)by a previous marriage. Children of Morgan Franklin Stroop born 4-28-1833-died March 19, 1921 and Sara Frances Meredith born September 28, 1833-died January 14,1917 were as follows; 1. Mary L. Stroop born October 10, 1856-died April 21, 1933. 2. Matilda M. Stroop born March 26, 1858-died February 14, 1929 3. William Henry Stroop born February 15, 1861-died April 28,1940. 4. Harriett Ellen Stroop born March 21, 1863. 5. Sara Caroline Stroop born March 16, 1869-died August 11, 1935. 6. Franklin Morgan Stroop born February 25, 1872-died 1944. 7. Catherrine Stroop born April 23, 1874. (see photo) Mary L.Stroop married Louis Shinkle and had one adopted son Lee Malott. Matilda M. Stroop never married. William Henry Stroop married Nancy Loyd and had one known son of David Morgan Stroop born January 11, 1886. Harriett Ellen Stroop married William Brown and they had 5 children named Pearlie Stewart Brown, Rose Brown, Bertha Brown, Olive Brown and Mable Brown. Sara Caoline Stroop married Robert Perry Lemons and they had 11 children named Stanley O. Lemons, Mary Blanche Lemons, Frances Ray Lemons, Wilbur Earl Lemons, William Gayl Lemons, DeForrest Floyd Lemons, Flora Hazel Lemons, Quinton Lemons, Charles C. Lemons, and 2 infant children unknown. Franklin Morgan Stroop born February 25, 1872-died 1944 married Cora Emery born in 1876-died 1943. They had four children of this marriage Clarence Floyd Stroop born June 9, 1897-died December 7,1947, Edgar Rowland Stroop Unknown dob-died in infantcy-possibly stillborn, Harry Stroop born January 31, 1901-died July 1, 1989 and Gerald Stroop born December 7, 1908-died September 1974. Catherrine Stroop born April 23, 1874-died 1947 married Charles Franklin Ferguson October 15, 1894 and they had 5 children named Fay Franklin Ferguson, Chester W.
