15. George Dewey SUHR ⁽¹⁾ was born on 18 Oct 1902 in Wayne, Wayne County, NE. He died on 13 Oct 1975 in Scottsbluff, Scotts Bluff County, NE. ⁽⁴⁰⁾ He was buried on 17 Oct 1975 in Bayard, Morrill County, NE. He had Social Security Number. ⁽⁵⁰⁾ George Dewey Suhr was born Oct. 18, 1902 in Wayne, NE. to George Washington Suhr
and Anna Paulson, he died Nov. 1975 and is buried in the Bayard Cemetery in Bayard,
NE. He married Caroline Alzada Gartman in Torrington, WY. on February
5, 1925. She was born December 21, 1906 in Clearfield Tnp North Dakota to George
Herbert Charles Gartman and Blanche Wright, she died Jun. 23, 1984 Bayard, NE. and is
buried in the Bayard Cemetery. They had seven children Dean Edward, Betty Alzada(died
in infancy), Mary Alice, Helen Louise, Daughter(died in infancy), George Warren, and
Gerald Dewey.

They were poor farmers and didn't have much. In 1931, they moved to
Reddington, where they farmed during the dust bowl days until 1935. In 1935 they
moved back to Bayard and worked on the farm for father-in-law, George H. Gartman. In
the winter of 1936, they moved to town and Dewey worked for Great Western Sugar
during campaign. They bought a farm south of Bayard from L.A. Fricke in February
1937. In 1958, they sold the farm and bought a mobile home and moved to a filling
station just south of the farm along highway 26. In 1965, they moved four miles north of
Bayard to Moomaw's corner and worked in a filling station for Emery Hesseltine. In the fall
of 1967, they moved to Glendo, WY. and worked for one year in a filling station for
Howard Burton. In the fall 1968, they moved back to Bayard and worked for Rufus
Bowden in a filling station just west of the Bayard High School until he broke his hip in 1969
or 70.

Dewey was a tall, lean, and soft-spoken man and never had a harsh word to say
about anyone.
