Services Tuesday for Mrs. Stanton
Funeral rites for Mrs. Jack Stanton, 83 of Spirit Lake were held Tuesday at the Donovan-Leyson Chapel
with the Rev. Wayne Carlson of the United Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. Stanton died Sat. at the
Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. She was born June 6, 1887 at Malvern, Iowa, the daughter of
Robert and Rachel Suhr. She spent her childhood at Malvern and completed nurses training at Cherokee.

In June of 1909 she was united in marriage to J.W. (Jack) Stanton at Worthington, MN and the couple resided at Spirit Lake. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Mrs. Robert (Helen) McGuigan of Lake Park, two brothers Ralph and Roy Clay of Portland, OR, two grandsons, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, several brothers and sisters.

Music was provided by Mrs. Richard Ayres. Pallbearers were Johnny Chalstrom, Lars Bak Christensen,
Pete Christensen, Johnny Russell, Virgil Arthur, and Clarence Pedley.

Interment was in the Lakeland Memory Gardens with the Dovonan-Leyson funeral home in charge.
